Abstract: The research aimed to explore the suitable planting density of flue-cured tobacco in the arid area and provide the scientific basis for guiding its production in the field.the effects of different planting density on the growth period and the growth of tobacco plants,the yield and quality of tobacco leaves were studied The results indicated that Planting density had leffects on the growth period of tobacco plants and agronomic traits and the yield and quality of tobacco leaves.With the increasing of planting the proportion of superior tobacco leaves,the proportion of middle and superior tobacco leaves and the average tobacco price were all gradually decreased.The production value of tobacco leaves showed the trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increasing of planting density
