Abstract: The new broom millet variety Chi Mi-2 was crossed with japonica of the local yellow broom millet as female parent with Neimi 5 as male parent by Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Research Institute of Chifeng.When participated in regional trial of Inner Mongolia during 2008 to 2009,the average of two years output is 271.4 kilograms/667m2,which was increased 11.2% and 21.8% compared with the control trial,respectively.In 2009 participated in produce trial of Inner Mongolia,the average output is 246.3 kilograms/667m2,which was increased 26.6% compared with the control.Chimi-2 has many characteristics than original varieties such higher output,anti-shatlering,strong resistance and good grain quality.
