Abstract: Swine pseudorabies is an acute and highly contagious disease caused by pseudorabies virus which is infective for pigs of different ages. Pseudorabies is one of the most serious diseases that affect the healthy development of swine industry and always bring huge economic losses. In recent years, this disease is widely studied by scientific researchers at home and abroad. In this paper, we review the research progress on swine pseudorabies from the aspect of etiology and control strategy, in hoping to provide references for the effective control of this disease.
