Abstract: The present study was designed to evaluate the influence of dietary supplementation of cysteamine(CS)on selected reproductive performance parameters of multiparous female Tibetan sheep.A total of 60 healthy multiparous ewes of 3-5 years of age were randomly allocated to either CS supplementary-fed group(experimental group)or control group.During the 35-day-long experimental period, all the ewes were freely grazed in the daytime, and each ewe was supplementary fed a basal diet of 250 g per day at nighttime. The basal diet of experimental group was supplemented with 300 mg/(kg·BW)of CS once every other day,and the control group received no CS supplementation. The pre-experimental period lasted for 7 days. The results showed that the estrus rate and birth weight were significantly higher in the experimental group compared to the control group(P<0.05),and the breeding rate, conception rate and lamb weaning weight were extremely significantly higher in the experimental group compared to the control group(P<0.01).Our results provide technical references for the high-efficient breeding of Tibetan sheep.
