[Objective] To provide a scientific immunization program for the prevention and control of wild-type pseudorabies virus infection in a large-scale pig farm. [Method] Epidemiological investigation was carried out in the infected pigs that immunized with the classical strain of Bartha-K61, and the serum levels of gB and gE antibodies were detected by ELISA. [Result] The epidemiological investigation, pathological autopsy and serum antibody detection preliminarily confirmed that the affected pigs were infected by wild-type pseudorabies virus. Through the emergency immunization of vaccine prepared with pseudorabies virus HB2000 strain, adjustment of immunization procedures and implementation of drug health care measures, the mortality rate of finishing pigs was reduced from 2.56% to 0.60%; except for 4-week-old and 12-week-old pigs, the antibody levels against the wild-type pseudorabies virus of the other pigs were all decreased; the positive rate against the wild-type pseudorabies virus of the stud boars and 8-week-old, 10-week-old and 14-week-old pigs was 0. [Conclusion] The Bartha-K61 vaccine cannot provide the complete protection. It can effectively control the infection of wild-type pseudorabies virus by emergency immunization of vaccine prepared with HB2000 strain that sharing high homology with the prevalent viral strain. Furthermore, strengthening of the biological safety measures is also helpful and urgent.

DAI Hao-yang,BAI Xue,WANG Jian-meng,CHAI Yuan,FU Shao-yin,LIU Yong-bin,ZHANG Wen-guang
Animal Husbandry and Feed Science    2019, 40 (6): 37-40.   DOI: 10.12160/j.issn.1672-5190.2019.06.011
Abstract1092)      PDF(pc) (450KB)(461)       Save
Genes, as mediators of genetic information, determine the performance of the creature′s traits. The occurrence of genetic sequence variation is an inevitable trend of organisms to adapt to the environmental changes. The allele in the diploid organism is a pair of genes that controls relative traits. Therefore, the effect of allele specific expression varies depending on the cell type and its developmental stage, showing differences between different individuals. Differential expression of alleles plays an important role in the regulation of gene expression and may ultimately be linked to phenotypic polymorphisms in organisms. Allele specific expression analysis has been widely used in animal studies to help improve the ability to identify and regulate genetic variation. The research progress on the formation mechanism of allele specific expression and its application is reviewed, in hoping to provide a theoretical basis for further revealing the genetic mechanism of allele specific expression and accelerating its application in animal production.

Basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins which belong to the superfamily of transcription factors are widely distributed in eukaryotes. At present, most of the functions of bHLH transcription factors have been identified in animals, however, it's study in plants is relatively limited. As the second major transcription factors in plants, based on their interactions between specific amino acids and the target genes, bHLH transcription factors play important roles in plant growth and development, physiological metabolism and stress response, and then regulate the expression of associated genes. In order to further understand the information on function and characteristics of bHLH transcription factors in plants, we reviewed their structural features, classification and biological functions, with focus on the most recently reported investigations on their response to abiotic stress. Our review may provide a theoretical basis for further understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the actions of plant bHLH transcription factors in response to stress.

Jianshui County of Hani-Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Honghe is located in the karst area with low latitude and high altitude and is one of the experimental areas for sustainable development of China's 13th Five-Year Plan. In recent years, the animal husbandry based on grass planting and sheep raising has developed rapidly and become an effective way for farmers to increase their income. However, in the process of development, the problems such as reduced land use efficiency and decreased breeding efficiency are becoming increasingly prominent. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency and to promote the development of ecological animal husbandry, a modern and high-efficiency agricultural demonstration park aiming to develop the dairy goat breeding industry based on grass production was built in Wulichong of Miandian Town of Jianshui County. The construction of the park has significance for protecting the ecological environment and elevating the economic income of farmers in this region, and provides technical and theoretical guidance for promoting the technology of livestock breeding combining with grass production.

Immunosuppression Effect of Different Doses of Cyclophosphamide on Mice
Animal Husbandry and Feed Science    2016, 37 (9): 1-1.   DOI: 10.12160/j.issn.1672-5190.2016.09.001

The aims of the present study were to observe the immunosuppression effect of cyclophosphamide with different dosage regimen on mice and to explore the method for establishing immunosuppression model induced by cyclophosphamide in mice. Single or multiple doses of cyclophosphamide were intraperitoneally injected in mice. The immune organ index, serous level of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, urea nitrogen and creatinine, blood leukocyte count, and splenic lymphocyte transformation were determined to evaluate the effect of cyclophosphamide on immunity and hepatic and renal function of mice. The results showed that both the multiple administration of 10, 20, 30, 40 mg/ (kg·BW) of cyclophosphamide for consecutive seven days respectively and single administration of 150 mg/ (kg·BW) of cyclophosphamide exhibited immunosuppression effect on mice and caused the changes of indicators associated with hepatic and renal function;the immunosuppression effect produced by multiple administration with lower dosage of cyclophosphamide was superior to that produced by single administration with higher dosage, and the immunosuppression effect was improved with the increase of dosage under multiple administration mode. The combined data suggest that the immunosuppression model in mice can be established by multiple administration of 30-40 mg/(kg·BW) of cyclophosphamide for consecutive seven days.
