Abstract: Chenopodiaceae is one of dominant halophytes species in Ahay region, Russia, and in the early 1 750 s,people began to study on it. In this paper,we review the Chenopodiaceae＇s history,origin, species distribution in Ahay region, and introduce natural habitats of Chenopodiaceae plant species in Altay. At the same time,preliminary description of the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of salt tolerance of halophytes is given in this paper.
