Abstract: Seeds with different moisture contents were stored at ambient temperature ,4-5 ℃and-18 ℃ for 4 years. Moderate drying storage could improve the longevity of Ceratoides latens seeds. After 11 months of storage at low-temperature and ambient temperature, the levels of MDA in uhra-dry seeds (MC 5.28%-3.89% )were significantly lower than those of the non ultra-dried (MC 7.47% ) seed. The seed vigor, activities of dehydrogenase, peroxidase (POD) and eatalase (CAT) of ultra-dry seeds were significantly higher than those of the non ultra-dried seeds. The vigor of seed under ultra-dried storage (MC 4.84%-3.41%) at ambient temperature is similar to that at low-temperature. Under ultra-dried storage, Ceratoides latens seed vigor can keep a higher level in a certain period.Tbe inhibition of lipid peroxidation proves to be one of the physiological causes of increasing storability of ultra-dried Ceratoides latens seed.
