Abstract: This paper first describes the relevant knowledge of the Housing-Price-to-Income Ratio（HPIR） briefly;then we amend the traditional formula and get the HPIR results of Changsha and some other cities in 2003-2008;and then we make a comparison between Changsha’s HPIR and that of other’s,analyze its current characteristics and changing trends;Finally,based on the above analysis,we put on proposals and responses on how to improve housing affordability of Changsha’s urban residents.
