Abstract: Millet is an important grain crop in Chifeng, but it often suffers from damages of stem borers. Since the borers are very covert, they are difficult to control and usually result in great loss. We have been carrying out a systematic investigation and study, finding out that Chilo infuscatellus Snellen, Ostrinia furnacalis（Guenee）,Chaetocnema ingenua（Baly）, Atherigona biseta Karl and Oulema tristis （Herbst） are the main types in the area. We have learned about their life habits on the whole and developed prevention and cure methods, which have been applied in large areas and acquired great effect.
