Abstract: Hybridization compatibility of Japanese tree peony ＂Fangji＂ was explored using the method of cross pollination. Using the Fangji as parents, 24 combinations were respectively hybridized with central plains peony, northwest peony, peony, with the number of monothalamic seeds as hybridization evaluation. The results showed that the difference rate of producing seeds between the combinations when Fangji as the female parent. Among combination of ＂Fangji ×Heihuakui＂and＂Fangji×Moloushuanghui＂and＂Fangji ×Yeguangbei＂ were incompatibility, the combination of ＂Fangji ×Zilouxiangjin＂ was high affinity. When Fangji as a male, it expressed affinity with all combination except the peony, which was show that the far edge of this group between the peonies peony group because of the low rate of producing seed.
