Abstract: Filter paper dispersion method was used to determine the antibacterial effects of the ethanol extracts of different parts of Epipremnum aureum, on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of different parts of Epipremnum aureum were also determined by the liquid suspension culture method. The results showed the ethanol extractions of different parts of Epipremnum aureum all expressed certain bacteriostatic activity. The radicular and cauline extractions of Epipremnum aureum showed similar bacteriostasis and were both better than leaf. The different parts of Epipremnum aureum extractions bacteriostatic activity was Staphylococcus aureus〉Escherichia coli〉Bacillus subtilis. The same parts of Epipremnum aureum extractions differed in the MIC to various bacterial.
