Abstract: The relationship between soil moisture during spring sowing and meteorological conditions were comprehensively researched with the observed data related to soil moisture content and meteorological conditions during ten continual growing seasons from 2005 to 2014 in Chifeng. The results showed that the precipitation, sunshine, temperature, wind speed before spring sowing period and in autumn have the same dynamic changes, but evaporation has different dynamic changes. The regional distribution of soil moisture in south of Chifeng is better than in north of Chifeng. For five meteorological factors, precipitation very significantly positive correlated with relative soil moisture, and the simple correlation coefficients were 0.411,0.358,respectly before spring sowing period and in autumn, evaporation significantly negative correlated with relative soil moisture, and the simple correlation coefficients were-0.216,-0.269,which implied precipitation and evaporation were the most important factors in determining soil moisture in spring sowing period.
