Abstract: Screening plants is an important part for phytoremediation research of petroleum contaminated soils. In this research, seeds of five species were selected. Responses of seed germination and early growth to different levels of petroleum pollutants were observed. The results showed that there was less restrictions on growth of Medicago sativa and Coreopsis tinctoria by petroleum pollutants. They displayed the potential of remedying petroleum contaminated soils.
