Research progress on functional characteristics and product processing of Perilla frutescens

Abstract: In order to further study the processing of Perilla frutescens food and drug products,the functional components of Perilla frutescens were summarized as flavonoids,oil,volatile oil and phenolic acids.The main products and the research technology of Perilla frutescens in the market are discussed.The prospect of developing nutrient-rich and functional health products and medicines are also discussed.
