Abstract: Ceratoides arborescend is preferred by livestock such as sheep, horses and camels because of its luxuriant foliages, abundant nutrition, rich protein and calcium. It's stem and leaf preserved well in cold season, and the characteristics of drought resistance, cold resistance, barren tolerance made it a kind of excellent xerophil semi-shrub in arid area. It's also a kind of important grass seed for building and planting in non-irrigated pasture. This paper introduces Ceratoides arborescens' exploitation and utilization, morphological characteristics, ecological types and cytology researches, growth and development, adaptation and habitats, building and planting technology, grassland management, nutritional value ;it also gives reference plants ofthe same genus as Ceratoides arborescens for extending plantation, exploitation and utilization.
