Abstract: Fatty acid binding protein （FABP）isolated from the component of intestinal cell sap by Ockner in 1976,become a research hotspot in the field of animal nutrition presently. In this article,the FABP types,characteristics and biological function were introduced. In addition,the research progress in the FABP effect on fatty acid metabolism and the regulation mechanism of FABP on fatty acid metabolism were reviewed.
