Abstract: In order to determine the optimal extraction conditions for polyphenols from Ephedre sinica root, a single factor test was performed using the concentration of the extraction reagent, the soaking time and the material-liquid ratio as evaluative indicators. Based on the single factor test, orthogonal experiments were performed to optimize the extraction process of polyphenols from Ephedre sinica root. The results showed that the best extraction performance with polyphenols yield of 0.586 0 mg/g was obtained under the conditions of the material-liquid ratio of 1:30, the ethanol concentration of 60%, and the soaking time of 15 h. This study provides references for the future development and utilization of Ephedre sinica root.
