Abstract: The experiment was conducted in stipa breviflora desert steppe in Wang fu number one group, experimental base of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Academy, Siziwang banner, Wulanchabu league of Inner Mongolia from 2006 to 2007.Different stocking rates were set up with sheep in order to study grazing behavior of sheep in response to stocking rate. The results showed that the foraging and ruminant behaviors of sheep were significantly affected under different stocking rate. The biting time was obviously reduced while the ruminating time was prolonged when the stocking rate was low. However, the different stocking rates had little impact on other maintenance and excretion behaviors.
