Abstract: Nettle （Urtica L.） is one kind of perennial herb. It is widely distributed and has rich nutrients and a variety of active ingredients. The whole plant may be medicine, and it also can be used as the raw materials of vegetables, feed, textile and rope, showing broad development prospect. The paper presents the distribution, biological characteristics, chemical components, nutrient and feeding value, as well as toxicity of nettle.
