Abstract: The morphological, cultural characters, biochemistry characters and the drug sensitivity of two enterocoeeus strains isolated from dying ducks and one reference strain of E. facialis were studied. The three bacteria shared following characteristics: appearing spherical in optical microscope, staining gram-positive; arraying by chain, growing well in broth containing 6.5 % NaCl at 10 and 45 ℃, surviving for 30 min at 60 ℃. Because the biochemical reactions characteristics of all bacteria agree well with those of E. facials, they were all identified as E. facials. Additionally, the results of drug sensitivity tests indicated that all the three strains were sensitive to penicillin, vancomycin, gentamycin and levofloxacin, but resistant to tetracycline.
