Abstract: Though little amount of mineral elements was needed in the body of animals and they didn't contain energy, but it was closely related with the metabolism of nutrients. When the supply of mineral elements in feed was deficient and the proportion of mineral elements was unbalanced, these would cause the deficiency of some mineral elements. It would lead to the metabolism disorder, lap up and chew those foreign bodies without nutrient value, which eventually caused the pica.
