Achievements and Significance of Constructing Forage Grass Base in the Protection of Wild Animals

Abstract: Artificial rearing and breeding is an effeetive method to protect wild animals (especially endangered animals). Though China has a long history of artificial rearing and breeding of wild animals, the rearing and breeding of wild animals has been developed for protecting resources and developing economy in recent years. Based on eontrasting the levels of planting forages and rearing and breeding wild animals at home and abroad, the contents, methods and achievements of constructing forage grass base of wild animals in Gansu Center for Proteetion of Endangered Animals of State Forestry Administration were summarized, so as to scientifically promote the development of grass industry teehnologies in local regions and their utilization in the protection of wild animals.
