Abstract: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the performance of three methods for determination of Ca content in eleven kinds of feed ingredients, including potassium permanganate method(recommended by GB/T 6436-2002),ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt complexometric titration method(EDTA method, recommended by GB/T 6436-2002) and homogeneous precipitation method. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the results obtained with the three methods(P〉0.05).The potassium permanganate method had higher accuracy than that of the other two methods, but its operating process was complex and time consuming;EDTA method was simple and fast, but the results obtained was uneasy to be judged;homogeneous precipitation method was not commonly used in practical production.
