Abstract: Probiotics is a kind of non-toxic, safe and environmental friendly microecological or living-bacteria preparation. It has been widely recognized in the modern livestock breeding industry. It can not only promote animal growth, prevent diseases, improve productive performance and ameliorate breeding environment, but also has no chemical residues. In this review, we summarized the recent advances in characteristics of formulation types, preparation process, application effectiveness and development trend of the feeding probiotics currently used in animal breeding industry.
