Abstract: In 2006,the National Travel Agency determined the traveling theme is ＂2006 China rural tourism ＂, vigorously developing the rural tourism in the national scope, which means the rural tourism starts to enter a new stage. This paper studies the origin of rural tourism in our country and the present research situation at home, as well as the concept of rural tourism. The paper discussed problems concerning the development of rural tourism, and also makes profound strategies into issues relating to the development of rural tourism.
