Abstract: Syringa spp.are important in the virescence and beautification in Baotou city,Inner Mongolia.Different species of Syringa spp.flower very differently,it is not only on the account of the climate,but also the species.The results obtained by investigating flowering features of the 14 species of Syringa in Baotou city,Inner Mongolia through three years indicated that the characteristices of different species have obvious varieties.S.pinnatifolia and S.persica did not flower.S.oblata flowered the earliest on May 1st or so and S.amurensis flowered the latest on June 16th or so.Single-factor variance analysis made to the 7 species in terms of their flowering periods indicated different species have different flowering features.
