Abstract: The Germination characteristics and vigor variation of Elymus canadensis L.seeds with 5 different storage periods were determined to test their degradation process and seed value.The results showed that with the prolonging of storage,different storage time of Elymus canadensis L.seeds has various degrees of dormancy and seed viability.Seed viability,germination potential,germination percentage and germination index took＂parabola＂form.The correlation between these items and storage time were significant.Seeds harvested current year were possible for dormancy.Seeds stored for 1 and 2 years had the highest value.Seeds stored for 4 years has low viability and planting value.
