Abstract: The proxidase (POD) and esterase (EST) isozyme characteristics of reciprocal hybrids F1 between Elymus sibiricus and E. purpuraristatus were analyzed by vertical slab polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis technology. The results showed that the reciprocal hybrids F1 had all the bands of both parents at the same developmental stage, and there were significant differences in the number, locus and intensity of the POD and EST isozyme bands among the reciprocal hybrids F1 between Elymus sibiricus and E. purpuraristatus. The isozymes provide evidence for the reliability of reciprocal hybrids F1, and the isozymes can be used for identification of reciprocal hybrids F1 and parental lines of Elymus sibiricus and E. purpuraristatus.
