Abstract: In order to understand the epidemiological characteristics of dermatosis in pet dog＇s population in Changde region of Hunan Province, a retrospective study was conducted based on the medical records of the pet dogs with dermatosis which had visited the animal hospitals in this region. The total incidence and category of the dermatosis in pet dogs were calculated and analyzed, and the association of dermatosis occurrence in pet dogs with their varieties, genders, ages and seasons was evaluated. The results showed that the incidence of dermatosis in pet dog＇s population in Changde region was 15.9%; the highest incidence was observed in poodle, accounting for 41.1% of the total cases; 1 - to 3-year-old dogs had higher incidence; ears were the highly vulnerable locations; mixed infection was the main etiology; summer was the high-occurrence season for this disease.
