Abstract: Starling from the current status of pig production in Hengyang City of Hunan Province, the amount of live pigs, the number of slaughtered pigs, pork production and pork prices in Hengyang City during the past ten years were analyzed in detail. It was found that the overall level of pig production in Hengyang was higher and the operation was well conducted. The pig prices fluctuated periodically and a period is about 3-4 years. Some suggestions were put forward, including continuing to consolidate the production status of live pigs in Hengyang and make it stable, establishing a perfect system of veterinary service system and perfecting the market system of products and speeding up the industrialization development.
