Research Progress on GDF9 gene, a Candidate Gene for Fecundity Trait in Ewes

摘要: 生长分化因子9(GDF9)是转化生长因子β超家族的一个新成员。近年来研究发现,GDF9基因的多态性与哺乳动物的繁殖性状相关。综述了GDF9基因的结构和多态性、生理效应及GDF9基因多态性与母羊产羔性能的相关性研究进展,并对母羊繁殖性能相关功能基因的研究进行了展望,以期为相关领域的研究提供参考。

Abstract: Growth differentiation factor 9(GDF9) is described as a new member of transforming growth factor β superfamily. In recent years, the polymorphism of GDF9 gene is found to be associated with reproductive traits of mammalian. The structure,polymorphism and physiological effects of GDF9 gene as well as the association of GDF9 polymorphism and lambing performance of ewes were reviewed. Furthermore, the research on functional genes associated with ewes reproductive traits was prospected, so as to provide references for the studies in related fields.
