Epidemiological Investigation of Porcine Contagious Pleuropneumonia in Zhoukou Area

Abstract: In order to clarify the epidemic situation of Porcine Contagious Pleuropneumonia (PCP) in Zhoukou area,a questionnaire survey and field visits were performed in the animal husbandry and veterinary station,pig association in all county,city and district,and 38 different sizes of pig farms. In addition,814 copies of porcine serum antibodies were detected in 5 unimmune pig farms in order to analyze the epidemic status of PCP in Zhoukou city. The results showed that the number of respiratory disease accounted for 23.71 % of the number of infectious diseases in pig farms of Zhoukou city from 2005 to 2007. The number of PCP pigs accounted for 0~64.45 % in 38 pig farms investigated. PCP mainly happened in the winter and spring,and was almost break out in exotic breeds,suggesting that PCP closely related to introduction.
