Abstract: The necessity of ecological immigration in western China and the current development situations of animal husbandry in ecological immigration region of western China were summarized. The development prospects of animal husbandry in ecological immigration region of western China were analyzed from the aspects of economic benefits, social benefits and ecological benefits. The results showed that ecological immigration could solve some problems including ecological degeneration and people＇s livelihood in infertile regions of western China, which would play a great impelling action for new socialist countryside construction.
