Abstract: A strain of Brucella ovis was isolated from the aborted foetus of goat. The culture results showed that Br. ovis needed CO2,but it couldn′t produce H2S. It was identified by using thionine,alkaline fuchsin, A.,M.,R. serum agglutination test and phages lysis test that this strain was completely accordant with the characteristics of international standard strain Br. ovis. It was firstly reported that Br. ovis was isolated from goats in China.
