Abstract: Obese gene could regulate the growth of animals and maintain the energy balance, which was realized by its product Leptin protein. Therefore, to control the expression level of Leptin in animals could effectively decrease the fat content and enhance the lean meat percentage, so as to bring great economic benefits for animal husbandry. The advances of research on obese gene were systemically reviewed.
