Abstract: The research aimed to verify the effects of feed containing residue and hull of Xanthoceras sorbifolia on the breeding of mutton sheep and provide scientific references for the developing and applying the feed products of X. sorbifolia. Selecting Tan Sheep as test object, X. sorbifolia residue was used to replace bran and corn as the concentrate supplement in fattening period (60-120 days)and X. sorbifolia hull was used to replace corn stalk as roughage of mutton sheep in the feeding test. The growth performance, health status and economic benefits of mutton sheep were analyzed and the application effects were evaluated. The results showed X. sorbifolia residue was used to replace bran (12%) and corn (3%) as the concentrate supplement and X. sorbifolia hull was used to replace corn stalk as roughage of mutton sheep in fattening period, which significantly promoted the growth of mutton sheep. The survival rate of mutton sheep in control group and experimental groups in fattening period was all 100%and the healthy status of mutton sheep was good. The economic benefits order of different groups were experimental group Ⅲ>experimental group Ⅰ>experimental group Ⅱ>control group. The feed of mutton sheep containing residue and hull of X. sorbifolia could reduce the breeding cost and enhance the economic benefits.
