  • Establishment of Mice Model Infected with Eperythrozoon ovis

    The experimental model of Eperythrozoonsis was established in mice by intravenous and intraperitoneal injection of different doses of whole blood and purified Eperythrozoon ovis from a sheep naturally suffered from Eperythrozoonsis diagnosed by blood pressure drop, blood smear staining and Eperythrozoon ovis specific PCR. The model was further evaluated for its success and characterized. While the mice could be infected within 3-6 days after injection of Eperythrozoon ovis by different means, no obvious infectious symptom was observed in the control groups. The results indicated that the experimental model of Eperythrozoon ovis infection in mice was successfully established and it was potentially helpful for the better understanding of biological property and pathogenic mechanisms of Eperythrozoon ovis.

    DHI data of the whole year of 2012 from a large-scale dairy farm in Heilongjiang Province were analyzed. And the analysis results were compared with the research advances at home and abroad. The results showed that the somatic cell score in this farm was in the normal range. But the mammary peak of cow arrived late, and the calving interval was too long. To solve the above problems, some corresponding improvement measures were put forward.
    Amplification of Ghrelin Gene in Oviduct Epithelial Cells of Sheep by RT-PCR

    Total RNA was extracted from oviduct epithelial cells of sheep,primers were designed by Primer 5.0 software,and Ghrelin gene was amplified by RT-PCR. The results showed that 200 bp of aim gene was obtained successfully by RT-PCR, which indicated that RT-PCR technique was an efficient mean to detect expression of Ghrelin gene in oviduct epithelial cells of sheep. The results lay the basis for studying expression change of Ghrelin gene in oviduct tissues of sheep under different hormone levels and further in vitro test.
    Detection of Parasite Eggs from Manure of Semi-free Cervus elaphus in Gogostai Haan Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia

    Cervus elaphus is second-class protective species in China. In order to understand the statue of parasites in the feces of Northeast Cervus elaphus in a nature reserve of Inner Mongolia, a total of 20 fecal samples collected from Gogostai Haan Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia were examined by using floatation from March to May in 2014. The results showed that Cervus elaphus was infected by parasites lightly in cool and dry winter, and the main parasites were whipworm, nematode and tapeworm. The average infection rates of whipworm, nematode and tapeworm were all 5% and the total infection rate was 15%,what′s more, mixed infection by more than one parasite was not found in this experiment.
    Evaluation on the Nutritional Value of High-quality Forage Grass in Desert Steppe of Ordos by Using RFV

    Three species of Gramineae grass, three species of Legume grass and three species of Asteraceae grass were collected from Ordos of Inner Mongolia in June, July and September respectively and air-dried. And twenty-seven samples were made. The comprehensive evaluation results by relative feed value (RFV) showed that Zhongmu No.2 had the highest quality when the same species of grass samples harvested in June, July and September were mixed. And the quality of Astragalus adsurgens Pall. and Artemisia desterorum Spreng were the next, and the quality of Hedysarum scoparium Fisch. was the worst. Then the same species of forage grass harvested at different time were compared. As for Gramineae grass, the nutritional value order of Stipa krylovii Roshev., Agropyron desertorum and Zhongmu No.2 in different harvesting period was June>July>September. As for Legume grass, the nutritional value order of H. scoparium and A. adsurgens in different harvesting period was June>July>September, but the nutritional value order of Melilotus albus was June>September>July. As for Asteraceae grass, the nutritional value order of A. desterorum, Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. and Artemisia sieversiana was July>June>September.

    The no-grain feed takes crop waste, high-quality forage and other renewable biomass as materials and is prepared through manual processing. It can be made into a suitable feeding of livestock and poultry feed for animals. Development and application of non-grain feed not only can save the cost of breeding, but also can bring the high-quality livestock products for people, so the prospect of the no-grain feed is broad. The development and application of materials of non-grain feed were summarized.

    ‘A factory, a product, one case’ supervision mode is general administration of quality inspection announced in 2012, and is carried out in exports of feed industry. Based on the exports of feed industry of Shenzhen Guangming District, the difference between this mode and traditional mode was explored from the comparative analysis of factory and supervision department. By comparison, the ‘A factory, a product, one case’ supervision mode has significant advantages in aspects of scientific supervision, pertinence and effectiveness, save the corporate and regulatory resources, and so on.

    Microecological agents as a kind of green feed additive model, has some functions of regulating animal intestinal micro ecological balance, promoting animal growth, improving feed conversion rate, improving animal immunity etc., and has wide application prospect. The types and mechanism of action of microecological agents were reviewed in this paper, and the application of microecological agents in enhancing animal′s immunity, improving feed conversion rate, reducing stress, purifying air and improving water quality in the zoo were also discussed, meanwhile problems and solution methods of microecological agents applying in wild animals in the zoo were pointed out.

    The research aimed to verify the effects of feed containing residue and hull of Xanthoceras sorbifolia on the breeding of mutton sheep and provide scientific references for the developing and applying the feed products of X. sorbifolia. Selecting Tan Sheep as test object, X. sorbifolia residue was used to replace bran and corn as the concentrate supplement in fattening period (60-120 days)and X. sorbifolia hull was used to replace corn stalk as roughage of mutton sheep in the feeding test. The growth performance, health status and economic benefits of mutton sheep were analyzed and the application effects were evaluated. The results showed X. sorbifolia residue was used to replace bran (12%) and corn (3%) as the concentrate supplement and X. sorbifolia hull was used to replace corn stalk as roughage of mutton sheep in fattening period, which significantly promoted the growth of mutton sheep. The survival rate of mutton sheep in control group and experimental groups in fattening period was all 100%and the healthy status of mutton sheep was good. The economic benefits order of different groups were experimental group Ⅲ>experimental group Ⅰ>experimental group Ⅱ>control group. The feed of mutton sheep containing residue and hull of X. sorbifolia could reduce the breeding cost and enhance the economic benefits.

    In view of the subject characteristics of animal biochemistry and the defect of traditional experimental teaching in the cultivation of students′creative thought and practical ability, the curriculum group belonged to College of Animal Science and Technology of Henan University of Science and Technology had a certain exploration in experimental teaching such as adopting autonomic teaching modes, optimizing the teaching contents, using reasonable assessment methods and cultivating students′comprehensive abilities, and so on. It proves that these kinds of improvements are beneficial to the quality of laboratory teaching.

    It was introduced that College of Life Science in Nantong University attaches importance to all-round development of students, the improvement of their comprehensive and the cultivation of students′innovative spirit and innovative abilities with the teaching idea of human-oriented. The teaching reform of Human Anatomy and Physiology course was people-oriented. Scientific learning methods were built by applying case teaching and project tasks and the teaching ideas were continuously created. The individualized teaching was promoted and students were advocated for positive thinking. The subjectivity of students must be taken as the dominant, independent learning should be combined with cooperative learning with other students. The teaching of problem awareness should be developed and deep learning of students should be inspired. The critical-thinking reading should be implemented and deep-learning skills should be grasped. The research aimed to deepen the reform of teaching contents and course system and promote the teaching method reform of courses with research teaching and independent learning as main contents.

    In order to understand the relief effects of Chinese veterinary medicine summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder on heat stress of pregnancy sow, 14 one-month-old pregnant sows with 2nd-3rd fetal times were selected and randomly divided into control group (basic diet) and summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group (supplementing 1 kg summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder per 800 kg feed) according to the principle of similar litter weight and fetal times. There were seven sows in each group. The related indices of heat stress were determined. And the test lasted for 8 days. The results showed that the respiratory frequency of sows in summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group decreased 3.57 times/min than that in control group. And the body temperature in summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group decreased 0.99 ℃than that in control group. There was no significant difference of respiratory frequency between summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group and control group(P>0.05). The average body temperature in summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group is significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05). The number of healthy piglets per sow in summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group was increased by 10.52% than control group. The number of diseased piglets in summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder group was decreased by 5.49%than control group. The results showed that summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder under the conditions of high temperatures could reduce the body temperature of pregnant sows, increase the number of healthy piglets and decrease the number of diseased piglets. Therefore summer-expelling and heat-resisting powder had good anti-stress effects.
    Endocrine of Canine in Gestation Period

    The reproductive mechanism of canine is different from other animals. Its main characteristics include:the maturation of oocytes after ovulation, a delay in the implantation of embryo, rise of serum progesterone concentration before ovulation, similar concentration of serum progesterone between pregnant canine and non-pregnant canine, absence of pregnancy-specific proteins and production of placental external relaxin, etc. Because the progesterone concentration in blood plasma couldn′t reflect the function of luteum and the metabolism of progesterone, so the adjustment mechanism of canine pregnancy was not yet elucidated. The current situations of the relevant research on hormones that played main functions in the gestation period of canine and their effects on the endocrine were reviewed, so as to provide theoretical foundation for enucleating the regulation mechanism of endocrine in the gestation period of canine.

    Rotavirus(RV) is an important gastrointestinal pathogen which can cause severe diarrhea in young animals and infants, and it causes a large number of death people and animals as well as great economic loss. WHO called for the development of RV vaccine as one of the highest priority to prevent RV infection. The research advances on molecular biology of RV were summarized in order to lay the basis for developing related gene of porcine rotavirus.
    Diagnosis and Treatment of Mixed Infection of Colibacillosis and Newcastle Disease

    Newcastle disease of chicken, caused by newcastle disease virus, is a kind of acute and highly-contagious infectious disease with higher lethallty rate. Nowadays, comprehensive prevention and control measures with vaccine inoculation as main measures are commonly used in China, which could control large-scale prevalence of Newcastle disease to a great extent. Chicken colibacillosis is a kind of infectious disease that caused by Escherichia coli. Various kinds of E. coli are main bacteria in the intestines of many kinds of animals and their distribution is extremely broad. And its pathogenic rate was higher, and E. coli is often mixed with the infection of other diseases. The mixed infection cases of Newcastle disease of chicken and colibacillosis were diagnosed by pathological examination of dead chicken, laboratory examination and drug sensitivity test on the isolated strains. And some comprehensive prevention and control measures were proposed so as to provide useful references for preventing and controlling colibacillosis and newcastle disease.
