Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the diagnosis and treatment methods for canine pyometra. A total of 20 clinical cases of canine pyometra collected from Hefei Animal Health Centre and Chizhou Beilekang Pet Hospital were included in this study. The clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and instruments test were analyzed to explore the most effective diagnosis and treatment methods for canine pyometra. The results showed that the blood routine inspection, blood biochemical inspection, type-B ultrasonic inspection and X-ray inspection were of great significance for the diagnosis of canine pyometra. Furthermore, it was better to take the ovary and uterus excision surgery as soon as possible to prevent and cure canine pyometra.
