Abstract: To investigate the effects of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (IBRV) infection on phagocytizing chicken erythrocytes function of bovine monocyte-macrophage, lymphocyte separating medium was used to isolate the bovine peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The isolated cells were subsequently cultured to monocyte-macrophage by adherent culture method. The chicken erythrocytes were added to bovine monocyte-macrophage which was infected by IBRV for 24 h, and the phagocytizing chicken erythrocytes rate of the infected cells was determined. The results showed that the phagocytic chicken erythrocytes rate of IBRV infected bovine monocyte-macrophage was significantly reduced (P〈0.05).
