Abstract: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the killing effect of alkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum, a wild medical plant, on armyworm eggs. The 1-day-old armyworm eggs were transitorily immersed in acetone solution containing 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 mg/L of alkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum, respectively. The CK group was included in this study. The hatching rate of armyworm eggs and survival rate of newly hatched larvae in different groups were statistically evaluated. The results showed that except for the 50 mg/L group, the hatching rate of annyworm eggs of the experimental groups was significantly lower than that of CK (P〈0.05); The survival rate of newly hatched larvae of all alkaloid treated groups was significantly lower than that of CK (P〈0.05). The Mkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum showed obvious killing effect on armyworm eggs.
