  • Effect of 17α-Methyltestosterone Exposure on Liver Histology of Female Pesudorasbora parva

    In order to understand the effect of exogenous androgen 17α-methyltestosterone (MT) on liver histological structure of aquatic animals, the semi-static water test was conducted using female Pesudorasbora parva as material to evaluate the effect of MT exposure on their body weight, liver weight, hepatosomatic index (HSI) and liver histology. The results showed that in early and middle phase of MT exposure, no significant changes in body weight of female Pesudorasbora parva were observed, however, in the late phase of MT exposure, their body weight were significantly reduced (P〈0.05). The liver weight of female Pesudorcasbora parva which were subjected to exposure of different dosage MT were reduced in different degrees compared with that of CK. The change of HSI exhibited the similar trend with liver weight. In the middle and late phase of MT exposure, the HSI of female Pesudorasbora parva were significantly lower than that of CK (P〈0.05). The histological injuries of liver after MT exposure were observed, including vacuolization and karyopyknosis of hepatocyte, and the injuries were gradually aggravated with the increase of MT dosage and extend of duration of MT exposure.
    Isolation and Identification of Pathogenic Bacteria Associated with Clinical Bovine Mastitis in Bayannur Area of Inner Mongolia

    The species of pathogenic bacteria causing daily cow mastiffs varied in different geographic areas, and the incidences of mastiffs in different dairy farms also varied. In order to understand the epidemiology characteristics of bovine mastiffs in Bayannur area of Inner Mongolia, a total of 80 milk samples were collected from dairy cows with clinical mastiffs in four different dairy farms. A total of 51 bacterial strains were isolated and phenotypieally identified, including 31 Staphylococcus isolates,6 Streptococcus isolates, and 14 isolates of enteric bacilli. The results of this study was helpful for the understanding of species distribution of main pathogenic bacteria associated with dairy cow mastiffs in this region, and may provide scientific basis for the effective prevention and control of bovine mastitis and rational use of antimicrobial agents in veterinary clinic.
    Killing Effect of Alkaloid Extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum on Armyworm Eggs

    The aim of the present study was to evaluate the killing effect of alkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum, a wild medical plant, on armyworm eggs. The 1-day-old armyworm eggs were transitorily immersed in acetone solution containing 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 mg/L of alkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum, respectively. The CK group was included in this study. The hatching rate of armyworm eggs and survival rate of newly hatched larvae in different groups were statistically evaluated. The results showed that except for the 50 mg/L group, the hatching rate of annyworm eggs of the experimental groups was significantly lower than that of CK (P〈0.05); The survival rate of newly hatched larvae of all alkaloid treated groups was significantly lower than that of CK (P〈0.05). The Mkaloid extracted from Dicranostigma leptodum showed obvious killing effect on armyworm eggs.
    Morphological and Histological Observation on Bursa of Fabricius, Spleen and Thymus of Boiler Pigeon

    [ Objective ]To provide morphological and histological foundation for the further study on immune function of immune organs of boiler pigeon. IMethodslThe 40-day-old boiler pigeons were chosen in this study, and the main immune organs, including bursa of Fabricius, spleen and thymus, were collected to prepare paraffin sections by HE staining method and were morphologically observed and mierophotographed. [Results]The structure of nmcosa epithelium of bursa of Fabricius was intact. The number of nodule in lamina propria layer of bursa of Fabricius mucosa was fewer, and the size of the nodule was smaller. In lamina propria layer, the vacuoles were observed and the number of lymphoeytopenia was fewer. The margin between the cortex and medulla of the nodule in bursa of Fabricius was not obvious, and the proliferation of a large number of connective tissue surrounding the nodule was observed, which resuhed in the immune function reduction of bursa of Fabricius. The development of the tissues and structures of spleen were mature, and the cells arranged closely. The number of lymphocytopenia in the medulla of thymus was fewer, and the thymie corpuscle was observed. The number of lymphoeytopenia in the cortex was more. [ Conelusion ] The bursa of Fabricius of 40-day-old boiler pigeon was atrophied, and its immune function was reduced. The immune function of spleen and thymus was normal.
    Antimicrobial Resistance of 26 Strains of Streptococcus suis Isolated from Veterinary Clinical Specimens

    In present study, the antimicrobial resistance of 26 strains of Streptococcus suis isolated from veterinary clinical specimens was investigated by K-B method recommended by CLSI. The results showed that most (73.0%) of the isolates were sensitive to eefotaxime and ampicillin/sulbactam. Furthermore, 57.7% and 50.0% of the isolates were sensitive to amikacin and doxycycline hydroehloride, respectively. The high rate of resistance to tetracycline (92.3%), gentamiein (69.2%) and sulfadimethoxine (69.2%) was observed, and 57.7% of the isolates exhibited resistance to chloramphenicol, cefiazidime, clindamyein, sulfadiazine sodium, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. The Streptococcus suis isolates have been found resistant to the antimicrobial agents commonly used in veterinary clinic, which should be paid more attention.

Taking SPF NIH mice producing battier facility established in Lanzhou institute of biological products as example, the mode of feeding, management and operation of SPF NIF mice in barrier system were elaborated in this paper. We established a standardized and large-scale production system of SPF NIH mice in a barrier system by scientific management and strict operation.

    [Objective]To investigate the effect of Saccharum alhagi on blood sugar content of rabbits. [Method] A total of 12 healthy New Zealand white rabbits were chosen and divided into six groups, including five experimental groups and one control group. The rabbits in different experimental groups were administrated with 30% water extract of Saccharum alhagi, 15% water extract of Saccharum alhagi, 7.5% water extract of Saccharura alhagi, 25% glucose injection + 30% water extract of Saccharum alhagl, and 25% glucose injection by intramuscular injection, respectively. The blood samples was collected from ear marginal veins at 0, 10, 20, 30, 60, 120, 240, 360, 480, 600 and 720 min after administration, respectively, and the serum were isolated. The serum sugar content was determined by commercial kit using enzyme-labeling measuring instrument. [ Results ]The effect of 30%, 15% and 7.5% water extract of Saccharum alhagi on blood sugar content of rabbits was not obvious; No significant differences were observed between the effects of 30% water extract of Saccharum alhagl+25% glucose injection and 30% water extract of Saccharum alhagi on blood sugar content of rabbits. [Conclusion]The effect of water extract of Saccharum alhagi on blood sugar content of rabbits was not obvious.
    Histological Study on Skin in Different Body Parts of Rana catesbeiana

    Abstract :The skin in different body parts of Rana catesbeiana were collected to prepared paraffin sections by using HE staining method and were histologically observed. The thickness of skin in different body parts was determined by using image processing software of hnage J 4.21 and was statistically analyzed by One-Way ANOVA analysis of variance using SPSS 17.0 statistical software. The skin of Rana cazesbeiana consisted of epidermis and dermis. The epidermis could be divided into 3 layers from outside to inside, including cuticle, granular layer and germinal layer. The dermis was composed of loose layer and dense layer. The loose layer was primarily composed of reticular connective tissue and also included some pigments, granular glands and mucous glands. The pigments were mainly distributed in subcuticular connective tissue, and a small amount of pigments were distributed in the connective tissue in gaps between granular glands and mucous glands. The value of thickness of tympanic skin was significantly lower than that of skin in the other parts of Rana catesbeiana (P〈0.05). No significant differences in thickness of skin in forelimb, hind limb and cloacal pore were observed (P〉0.05). The distributing density of pigment cells, granular glands and mucous glands varied in skin in different body parts of Rana catesbeiana. The number of mucous glands distributing inside was more than that outside, and the granular glands were mainly distributed in epidermis but barely in deep layer.
    Diagnosis of Subgroup J Avian Leukosis of Scatter-feed Huainanwang Native Chicken

    Abstract :The diseased 12-week-old scatter-feed Huainanwang native chickens in a farm were anatomized. The white tumor was found in liver of the diseased chicken; The myocardium was found thickened and suspected tumor vegetation was found; The splenatrophy was observed and the color of the section was dark. The suspected case was molecularly diagnosed by PCR assay using specific primers of subgroup J avian leukosis virus. A specific DNA band with the size of 545 bp was obtained, indicating that the tissues of the diseased chicken were positive for subgroup J avian leukosis virus. In a conclusion, the suspected ease was pathologically and molecularly diagnosed as infection of subgroup J avian leukosis virus.

    Enrofloxacin, belonging to the third generation of fluoroquinolone, is a kind of antibiotic with broad antibacterial spectrum and is widely applied in livestock and poultry breeding and aquaculture. With the increasing amount of enrofloxacin used in agriculture production, its effect on cytochrome P450 enzyme system is also widely investigated. Here we introduced the basic characteristics of cytochrome P450 enzyme and reviewed the research progress on effect of enrofloxacin on cytochrome P450 enzyme system, so as to provide reference for further understanding of interaction mechanism between enrofloxacin and cytochrome P450 enzyme system as well as pharmacologic and toxicologic features of enrofloxacin in livestock and poultry.
    Effect of "Beiermei" on Lactating Performance of Dairy Cow

    In preset study, the prevention and treatment experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of "Beiermei", a commercial product of premix with main components of minerals, on lactating performance of dairy cow. In prevention experiment, a total of 20 healthy lactating dairy cows were chosen and divided into control group (group A) and experimental group (group B). In treatment experiment, a total of 20 lactating dairy cows with subclinical mastitis were selected and also divided into control group (group C) and experimental group (group D). There were 10 dairy cows for group A, B, C and D. The two control groups, group A and group C, fed basal diet, and the two experimental groups, group B and group D, fed basal diet adding with"Beiermei" with dosage of 300 mg/kg. The daily milk yield of each group were recorded, and the milk samples were collected at 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 d of formal experiment and milk composition was determined, respectively. The prevention experiment results showed that compared with group A, the average daily milk yield for each cow of group B was increased by 1.90 kg (P〉0.05), and the percentage of milk fat, milk protein, milk sugar and content of dry matter were increased by 3.52% (P〉0.05), 7.21% (P〉0.05), 1.92% (P〉0.05) and 6.09% (P〈0.05), respectively. The treatment experiment results showed that compared with group C, the average daily milk yield for each cow of group D was increased by 2.24 kg (P〈0,05), and the percentage of milk fat, milk protein, milk sugar and content of dry matter were increased by 14.42% (P〈0.05), 10.65% (P〈0.05), 2.02% (P〉0.05) and 9.53% (P〈0.05), respectively. The commercial product of premix"Beiermei"with main components of minerals has prevention and treatment effect on subclinical mastitis of dairy cow and can also improve the quality of milk.
    Preparation of Compound Hainanmycin Sodium Solution and Its Therapeutic Efficacy on Chicken Coccidiosis

    The compound hainanmycin sodium solution was prepared by using hainanmycin sodium, trimethoprim, emulsifier and proper solvent. The quality of the prepared solution was evaluated using the method recommended by national standard. Furthermore, the therapeutic efficacy of compound hainanmyein sodium solution on artificial infection of coccidian in chicken was investigated. The color of the prepared hainanmycin sodium solution was dark blue, and the content of hainanmycin sodium in the solution was 98.86% of the labeled amount. All of the crucial indexes investigated in stability test met standard requirements. The number of chickens with diarrhea and death chickens in the group administrated with compound hainanmycin sodium solution was fewest, and the effective cure rate was the highest (95%), which was obviously higher than that of the two control groups. The quality of the prepared compound hainanmycin sodium solution was stable, and it showed obvious therapeutic efficacy on chicken coccidiosis.
    A Clinical Trial of Effect of Micron-sized Traditional Mongolian Veterinary Medicine "Quchongxiehuosan" on Parasitic Infection of Sheep

    In order to meet the requirement of production of "green" animal-derived food on the veterinary medicine product, and to increase the efficacy of traditional Mongolian veterinary medicine, the traditional Mongolian veterinary medicine " Quehongxiehuosan", developed by research group of Traditional Chinese and Mongolian Veterinary Medicine in Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Inner Mongolia Academy of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Sciences for prevention and treatment of sheep parasitosis, was subjected to micron processing. Furthermore, its clinical efficacy was determined. The results showed that compared with the conventional formulation, the efficacy of micron-sized "Quehongxiehuosan" was obviously increased. The 20 g of micron-sized "Quchongxiehuosan" showed the equivalent efficacy as 40 g of conventional formulation. Meanwhile, 40 g of micron-sized "Quchongxiehuosan" showed the equivalent efficacy as chemical anthelmintic drug "Yikesai". No side effect during the clinical trial was observed. Moreover,the gaining effect of the micron-sized "Quehongxiehuosan" was superior to that of "Yikesai".
    Analysis on Genetic Effects of Myf-5 Gene on Growth Traits in Tan Sheep

    The genotype of Myf-5 gene of 196 individuals of Tan Sheep in Yanchi region of Ningxia was determined by ABI3730 sequenator, and the association between different genotype of Myf-5 gene and four growth traits was statistically analyzed by using SAS software. Three genotypes of Myf-5 gene, including AA, AC and CC, were found. The three-month body weight and sixmonth body weight of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AC genotype were extremely significantly higher than those of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AA and CC genotype (P〈0.01), and the nine-month body weight of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AC genotype were significantly higher than that of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AA and CC genotype (P〈0.05).No significant differences in birth weight of Tan Sheep with different genotypes were observed (P〉0.05).

    Local varieties of goats in Tibet are famous of their superior traits, including crude feed tolerance, cold resistance, hypoxia resistance, disease resistance and strong adaptability, The central producing areas, breed characteristics and current status of cultivation of different local varieties of goats in Tibet were introduced, and the main factors limiting the development of goats cultivation in this region were analyzed. On this basis, we put forward some suggestions on promoting the conservation and utilization of germplasm resources of local varieties of goats in Tibet.
    Effect of Soybean Protein Peptide on Growth Performance of Weaned Piglets

    This study was conducted to investigate the effect of soybean protein peptide on the growth performance of young animals by using weaned piglets as experimental animal. A total of 160 weaned piglets were included in this study and were randomly divided into four groups. Group I fed basal diet adding 3.0% plasma protein powder; Group Ⅱ fed basal diet adding 3.0% "Leneng", a commercial production of soybean protein peptide, and 3.0% plasma protein powder; Group Ⅲ fed basal diet adding 3.0%"Leneng"; Group Ⅳ fed basal diet adding 5.0%"Leneng". The entire test period lasted for 12 d. The results showed that during 1-6 d, 7-12 d or 1-12 d after weaning, the growth performance of the piglets in groups Ⅱ and group m were both significantly increased (P〈0.05), and the significant increase in feed conversion rate of the piglets was also observed (P〈0.05). In view of the cost of feeding, 3% soybean protein peptide was commended to use for weaned piglets.
    Anthelminthic Effect of Traditional Mongolian Veterinary Medicine Feed Additive "Yanglele" and Its Growth Promoting Effect on Sheep

    In present study, the anthelminthic effect and growth promoting effect of a commercial product of traditional Mongolian veterinary medicine feed additive "Yanglele" on sheep were investigated. The results revealed that when the basal diet of the fatting lamb was added with "Yanglele" with the dosage of 15 g/d, the optimum anthelminthic effect and growth promoting effect were observed. Adding "Yanglele" with the dosage of 25 g/d in basal diet was able to effectively control the severe parasitic infection of draft ewe. The growth promoting effect of the sheep fed with "Yanglele" was superior to that of sheep administrated with "Yikesai" injection.

    In traditional classification method, the way of water-absorbing of plant cell is classified as osmosis water-absorbing, imbibition water-absorbing and metabolic water-absorbing. However, the novel classification method in the new version textbook, in which the way of water-absorbing are classified as diffusion, mass flow and osmosis, are introduced. In this paper, internal correlation and difference between the two ways were summarized, so as to make the students better understand the waterabsorbing mechanism of plant cell and contribute to full-dimensional teaching.

    In order to effectively prevent the occurrence of diseases of Litopenaeus vannamei and to increase the comprehensive benefit of pond culture, the technique for polycuhure of Litopenaeus vannamei, Ctenopharyngodon idellus and Cyprinus carpio was developed. The output production of Litopenaeus vannamei, Ctenopharyngodon idellus and Cyprinus cazpio under the polyculture condition was 3 600, 3 300 and 2 400 kg, respectively. The production value was 116,700 Yuan per hectare, and the net profit was 40,800 Yuan per hectare. The mode of polycuhure of different aquatic animals was effective for the utilization of water space; The ability of self-cleaning of the water in pond was enhanced; The transmission route of aquatic animals diseases was effectively blocked, avoiding the outbreak of the diseases. The risk of the aquaculture was reduced and the economic benefit was increased.
