Abstract: [ Objective ]To provide morphological and histological foundation for the further study on immune function of immune organs of boiler pigeon. IMethodslThe 40-day-old boiler pigeons were chosen in this study, and the main immune organs, including bursa of Fabricius, spleen and thymus, were collected to prepare paraffin sections by HE staining method and were morphologically observed and mierophotographed. [Results]The structure of nmcosa epithelium of bursa of Fabricius was intact. The number of nodule in lamina propria layer of bursa of Fabricius mucosa was fewer, and the size of the nodule was smaller. In lamina propria layer, the vacuoles were observed and the number of lymphoeytopenia was fewer. The margin between the cortex and medulla of the nodule in bursa of Fabricius was not obvious, and the proliferation of a large number of connective tissue surrounding the nodule was observed, which resuhed in the immune function reduction of bursa of Fabricius. The development of the tissues and structures of spleen were mature, and the cells arranged closely. The number of lymphocytopenia in the medulla of thymus was fewer, and the thymie corpuscle was observed. The number of lymphoeytopenia in the cortex was more. [ Conelusion ] The bursa of Fabricius of 40-day-old boiler pigeon was atrophied, and its immune function was reduced. The immune function of spleen and thymus was normal.
