Abstract: The genotype of Myf-5 gene of 196 individuals of Tan Sheep in Yanchi region of Ningxia was determined by ABI3730 sequenator, and the association between different genotype of Myf-5 gene and four growth traits was statistically analyzed by using SAS software. Three genotypes of Myf-5 gene, including AA, AC and CC, were found. The three-month body weight and sixmonth body weight of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AC genotype were extremely significantly higher than those of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AA and CC genotype （P〈0.01）, and the nine-month body weight of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AC genotype were significantly higher than that of the individuals of Tan Sheep with AA and CC genotype （P〈0.05）.No significant differences in birth weight of Tan Sheep with different genotypes were observed （P〉0.05）.
