Abstract: The silkworm artificial diet contains an abundance of protein, carbohydrate and other nutrients. The spoilage of the silkworm artificial diet is commonly occurred, which is mainly due to the silkworm rearing environment of high temperature and humidity. The spoiled diet usually affects the feeding habits and health of silkworm. Accordingly, it is necessary to add preservative in artificial diet of silkworm. In this paper, the main types of preservative used in silkworm artificial diet and their application and research status were reviewed, and the development and application of new type of diet preservative are prospected.
