The results show that there were certain differences between various breeds of chicken in the quality of eggs. Except for the difference in the proportion of eggs was not significant(P〈0.05), there were extremely significant differences between Lhasa white chicken eggs(or White Leghorn eggs) and Tibetan Chicken eggs in egg weight, eggshell color, egg air diameter, eggshell proportion, eggshell strength, yolk weight and eggshell thickness(P〈0.01). There were extremely significant differences between Lhasa white chicken eggs(or Tibetan Chicken eggs) and White Leghorn eggs in the index of egg shape(P〈0.01). There were extremely significant differences between Lhasa white chicken eggs and Tibetan Chicken eggs(or White Leghorn eggs) in egg albumen height and haugh unit(P〈0.01). There were extremely significantly differences between various breeds of chicken in the egg albumen weight, yolk weight proportion and yolk color(P〈0.01). There were significant differences between Lhasa white chicken eggs and Tibetan Chicken eggs(or White Leghorn eggs) in egg albumen proportion(P〈0.05). There were significant(P〈0.05) or extremely significant differences(P〈0.01) between three breeds of chicken in eggshell weight. There were significant differences between Lhasa white chicken eggs(or White Leghorn eggs) and Tibetan Chicken eggs in blood pot and meat spot(P〈0.05). In a word, Lhasa white chicken eggs is the best quality and have good market prospect, so it is needed to strengthen the breeding of Lhasa white chicken.
