Abstract: Soil moisture around roots of dominant plants under different conditions of grazing intensity in desert steppe were studied. The results show that due to the difference of grazing intensity, there were certain differences in soil moisture around the roots of dominant plants. With the increase of grazing intensity, soil moisture around the roots of Stipa breviflora, Artemisia frigida and Cleistogenes songorica increased, while soil moisture around the roots of the plaque declined.
