Abstract: Retinol-binding proteins 4 (RBP4) is an important protein produced by progesterone receptor. It stimulates the expression of TGF and involves in the early development of embryo and the transportation of VA. RBP4 gene is a candidate gene for the reproductive performance of domestic animals and is widely studies in sheep, swine and bovine. The research progress on function of RBP4 in domestic animals at home and abroad in recent years is reviewed in this paper.
