To understand the allelopathic potential of Cenchrus pauciflorus, the allelopathy of different concentrations (0,25%, 50% ,75%, 100% ) of seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus pauciflorus on seed germination of Bromus inermis, Phleum pratense and Agropyron cristatum was assessed by bioassay. The results showed that the seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus pauciflorus had effects on seed germination and seedling growth of the three gramineous grasses in different degrees. The seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus pauciflorus had no significant effects on germination potential and germination index of Bromus inerrnis, but had significant effects on its ratio of root to sprout. The seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus pauciflorus had no significant effects on germination rate, germination index and germination potential of Phleum pratense, but had significant effects on its ratio of root to sprout (P〈0.05). The seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus pauciflorus had significant effects on germination rate, germination index, germination potential and ratio of root to sprout of Agropyron cristatum (P〈0.05); the germination rate of Agropyron cristatum seed in 100% seed aqueous extracts from Cenchrus paucifloru was 18.6%, which was decreased by 56.8% than that of control; the germination potential and germination index was 6.7% and 3.24, which was decreased by 39.3% and 8.94 than that of control, respectively.

The aim of the present study was to predict the exon-intron structure of gene coding connectin in oyster and to determine its primary structure and domains. The exon-intron structure of gene coding connectin was deduced based on oyster genomic data by using bioinformatics method; the mRNA composition of coding regions for connectin in oyster was predicted; the primary structure of oyster connectin was determined and its domains were detected; phylogenetic tree was constructed by comparing amino acid sequences of homologous protein associated with connectin from different species. The results showed that the gene coding connectin in oyster genome covered 200 kb, the connectincoding mRNA was about 74 kb, and the relative molecular weight of oyster connectin was deduced as 2 700 ku; oyster connectin was composed of Ig, Fn, and kinase domain, PEVK domain and unique sequences; the oyster eonnectin phylogenetically belonged to protostome group. Oyster connectin is a new type of connectin-like protein.

The aim of the present study was to develop a multiplex RT-PCR for simultaneous detection of FMDV serotypes O, A and Asia-1. Four specific primers were designed by Primer Premier 5.0 Software targeting VPI gene of FMDV. The annealing temperature and other reaction conditions were optimized. The results showed that the detection limit of the established method was 1 pg/μL; the detection results of CSFV, PPV, PRV, PRRSV, PCV and other related virus by using the developed method was all negative, indicating the good specificity of the method. FMDV serotypes O, A and Asia-1 could be accurately discriminated by the multiplex RT-PCR method developed in this study which was suitable for rapid detection and molecular epidemiological survey of the three serotype of FMDV.

A QuEChERS Kit-UPLC/MS/MS method for simultaneously determination of 18 quinolone residues in livestock and poultry meat was developed in this study. The samples were oscillated and centrifuged in a 1% aqueous solution of acetic acid and acetonitrile (20:80, V/V). The obtained supernatant was purified after transferring to purification pipe and was then concentrated to dry. The residues were dissolved in aqueous solution of methanol (methanol :water=1:4) and were then filtered. The Cls chromatographic column (100 mm×2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) was used to isolate, and the 0.2% aqueous solution of formic acid and acetonitrile solution containing 0.2% formic acid were used as mobile phase to gradient elute. The 18 quinolone residues in livestock and poultry meat were qualitatively and quantitatively determined by UPLC/MS/MS. A good linear relationship of the 18 quinolone in the range of 0.5-80 ng/mL was observed, and the correlation coefficient (r) was all above 0.99. Recovery test was performed with three concentration levels of 5.0, 10.0, 50.0 μg/kg. The average recovery of the 18 quinolone ranged from 60.5% to 97.0%, the relative standard deviation ranged from 2.1% to 19.5%, and the detection limit of the method was 5.0 μg/kg. The developed method with good reproducibility, high sensitivity, short analysis time and strong ability of confirmation was suitable for the simultaneous determination of 18 quinolone residues in livestock and poultry meat.

In intensive sheep breeding, there are disadvantages such as low efficiency, heavy workload and high cost in traditional sheep artificial restraining method. A novel type of sheep auto-adjust restraining device with simple structure was developed, which was highly automated, convenient for operation, labor saving and practical for usage. In order to evaluate its applicative effect in sheep production, the time consuming in Brucella vaccine injection and weighing by using developed auto-adjust restraining device was compared with that by using traditional artificial restraining method. The work efficiency of Brucella vaccine injection and weighing was increased by 3 times and 1.5 times, respectively, indicating that the production efficiency was improved; the developed auto-adjust restraining device prevented sheep from competing for food and separated workers from sheep. The development of sheep auto-adjust restraining device is of great significance for the improvement of comprehensive production and promotion of persistent and healthy development of animal husbandry industry. The device has the potential to be promoted and applied.

Sainfoin (Onobrychis viciifolia) is perennial legume forage and is honored as "grass queen" due to its high nutritive value and good palatability. It has strong resistance to cold and drought and is widely cultivated around the world. Reports on feeding value, diseases and cultivation techniques of sainfoin are common, but literatures on its secondary metabolites are still limited. We systematically reviewed the differences in content and structure of condensed tannins from sainfoin with different varieties and phenological phases. Furthermore, we elaborated the roles of condensed tannins from sainfoin in ruminant nutrition regulation, with emphasize on its effect on digestion and absorption of nutrients, production performance, occurrence of frothy bloat and gastrointestinal parasites infection in ruminant animals.

Canine distemper is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by canine distemper virus (CDV). Animals in Canidae, Mustelidae and Procyonidae are susceptible to CDV. This disease can be preliminary diagnosed by clinical symptoms and epidemiological features and confirmed diagnosed by etiology examination and serodiagnosis. Currently, due to the lack of effective drugs for cure of canine distemper the prevention of this disease mainly dependents on vaccination. We summarized the clinical diagnosis technique of canine distemper disease and the research progress on canine distemper vaccine, so as to provide some references for the veterinarians.

Excretory-secretory (ES) products released by Trichinella spiralis play a complex role in regulating host immune system by actions of activation and inhibition. This regulative effect is helpful for Trichinella spiralis to escape from the immune response and then to infect the host. Meanwhile, the immune regulation mechanism induced by Trichinella spiralis can relieve the symptom of autoimmune disease, allergic and cancer.
