Abstract: In order to provide scientific references for cultivation of alfalfa in western Shandong, the effect of fertilizer combinations with different ratios of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on nutritional quality of alfalfa was assessed in this study. The alfalfa variety of Sanditi was used as material. The experimental design was a completely randomized design. At the initial flowering stage, the contents of crude protein, crude fat, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and crude ash of alfalfa in each treatment group were determined. The results showed that the nutritional quality of alfalfa was improved by nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilization: the contents of crude protein, crude fat and crude ash of alfalfa were increased, and the contents of neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber were decreased. The fertilization with appropriate ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can improve the nutritional quality of alfalfa.
