Abstract: Postpartum placental retention is one of the most commonly observed obstetrical diseases in dairy cow which is considered as one of the risk factors associated with endometritis. This disease always results in infertility, repeat breeding and abortion in dairy cow and brings huge economic losses for dairy industry. Based on the veterinary clinical experiences for years,we herein introduce the principle of prevention and treatment for placental retention in dairy cows.
